Dr. Catherine “Kade” Stotler, DACM, BFA, MSOM, L.Ac., (They, Them, Theirs) received their Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO & their Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA. While in school, Kade specialized in advanced tuina and energetic qi gong techniques and practices for treating/rehabbing physical injuries. In addition, they also took advanced coursework in the 5 Elements approach to balancing mental and emotional health and well being. In their doctoral program, they specialized in Integrative Medicine notably with treating Oncology patients. They are skilled at treating common colds, headaches, menstrual irregularities and pain, menopausal symptoms, fatigue, digestive upset, traumatic and repetitive use injuries, insomnia, emotional challenges, and helping patients regulate blood pressure, blood sugar and energy levels among other complex and chronic health conditions.
For Pediatrics, Kade was trained in a Japanese needle free Sho-ni shin technique. This treatment technique, combined with herbs, can help children with an array of problems including bedwetting, common colds and flus, constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, digestive disorders, sleep, physical injuries and behavioral and emotional challenges to name a few.
For the past 20 years, they have worked as a behavioral and sensory specialist with differently abled individuals. They are also a classically trained ballet and modern dancer with over 34 years of practice, 15 of which were spent dancing and teaching professionally. Being an avid outdoors-person, backpacker, and wildcrafter, Kade focuses on how Chinese Herbalism can enhance and support the body’s performance ability and overall health. They spent 2 years as an herbal intern for Well Woman Acupuncture specializing in women’s health and look forward to continuing this work and expanding upon it to include treating clients with broader spectrums of gender identity.
When not practicing Chinese Medicine, Kade can be found partner dancing, practicing aikido, backpacking, studying medicinal plant ID and uses, or at home developing their food forest garden and hanging with their dog, cat and chickens.
